About MONEY MITRA

Mitra Sharifi, endearingly known as “Money Mitra,” is a Money + Mindset Coach and Consultant, Personal Finance + Personal Development Educator, Diversity/Inclusion Strategist and Founder of the Psychology of Spending. Originally pre-med at Vanderbilt University, Mitra changed her major after she decided helping people in other ways was her calling. With a fascination for the mind and behavior, Mitra found a deep interest for psychology and completed her bachelor’s followed by a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Mitra ended up working outside of her field when she began working in the mortgage industry in 2012. Here her love of finance blossomed and she began to notice patterns and behaviors around spending. After fusing her passions of psychology and finance, the Psychology of Spending was born. Her mission is to normalize money conversation and eliminate cycles of guilt, shame, and avoidance so many experience. Mitra is intentional about helping people own their money mindsets and truly step into their purpose, creating the lives they imagine.
